Naked Foundation..... Oh My!

Well it is getting to be that time of year again, time to retire my summer tinted moisturizer and return to more coverage with foundation. I kinda have a love/hate relationship with foundation, I love the way it covers just hate the way it feels.
Until now, I am loving this Urban Decay Naked foundation.  It covers really nice without making it feel like you have a mask on.  I also love that it makes my skin look so pretty and actually feels like I am not wearing anything.  It's available in 18 colors so it isn't hard to find a match. Of course I use a primer ( right now I go between Smashbox or Korres Anti-aging). And trust me, alittle bit of this foundation goes along way. Be sure to warm it in your hand first and if one application isn't enough, it has buildable coverage!

Elbow surgery......ugh!

So I haven't forgotten about doing my blog, just been crazy busy trying to prepare for my elbow surgery. 22 yrs of doing hair has caught up with me and I had to have surgery for "tennis elbow".  I had it done a week ago and let me just say.......it is kicking my butt! Not only did they clean out alot of scar tissue on my tendon but I had a bone spur they had to shave down. I have had alot of pain and have pretty much done nothing for a week.  As I recover, I am sure I will be working on my blog. Although I have had some difficulty trying to add badges and other things to it to make it fancier. Plus, I have figured out that the camera I tried using doesn't quite work as well as I would hope. I guess practice makes perfect but if anyone has any advice to give, I would love to hear it. Hoping I am off to a speedy recovery!

My first post!

Well I finally decided to make my first post. I racked my brain on what I should write about and what would be interesting to people who would read this. So, I thought I should write about something that I am passionate about. And what better than to write about the color pink.

I have truly loved the color pink since I was little, it is a happy color and one that makes me feel good. Of course being a hairstylist, I decided along time go that I wanted pink in my hair. This took many trials and alot of errors to find the perfect pink. Especially before it actually became popular, to find a color that actually stayed longer than a few days was a challenge. I have been through bottles of Manic Panic, Prisms, Privana and other concoctions I have created with mixing all kinds of things.

Finally, I have found a product that is beyond incredible! It is by Special Effects and it lasts at least 3 weeks in my hair. I have also done others with this and it has stayed in their hair for at least 6 months. I of course, like to keep mine vibrant so, that is why I do it so often.

You can order it on the internet anywhere from Ebay to Amazon. They do have a website but you have to call them to order. Of course my favorite is Cupcake pink and Atomic pink. And I definetly suggest bleaching your hair first.
